BlueCherry® by CGS Recognized
by Leading Analyst Firm in PLM Market Report
BlueCherry by CGS has received a
“Positive” rating in Leading Analyst Firm’s latest MarketScope for
PLM in Apparel, Footwear and Accessories report. The rating is based
on an independent evaluation of the company’s product, market
understanding, customer experience and other key criteria. The
report also highlights the importance of PLM to the AFA sector and
discusses the advantages of tightly integrated PLM, sourcing and ERP
systems such as BlueCherry by CGS.
New York, NY, October 20, 2009 —Computer
Generated Solutions Inc. (CGS) has received a “Positive”
rating from leading industry analyst firm Gartner
in its September 2009 MarketScope for PLM in Apparel,
Footwear and Accessories (AFA) report. The report covers
the state of the market for product lifecycle management and
sourcing solutions that serve this fast-paced industry sector.
BlueCherry by CGS received the “positive” rating based on Gartner’s
independent evaluation of its product, market understanding,
customer experience, offering (product) strategy, business model,
operations and overall viability.
According to Gartner’s report, “For AFA organizations driven
by shortening product life cycles, faster time to market and more
rapid identification of products not performing, PLM and sourcing
solutions are key requirements to manage increasing risk in new
product launches, produce tighter forecasts of sales by line,
address increased pressures to make the right decisions, and use
offshore sourcing to keep costs low.” The report also noted
that, “Enterprise integration continues to be a key element in
successful implementations. Tight integration among PLM, sourcing
and ERP systems is important to ensure cost-effective execution of
the product designs and plans.”
“CGS is proud to be recognized in the PLM and sourcing space
through this independent industry report,” noted Paul Magel,
senior vice president of application solutions at CGS. “After
reviewing our PLM product for the first time, the analyst firm
recognizes our commitment to both the soft goods industry and to our
customers. We are delighted that—through this report—more companies
will discover what the BlueCherry user community already knows: CGS
delivers the most comprehensive business systems with the lowest
total cost of ownership for its customers.”
The Gartner report comes within days of the industry launch of
BlueCherry Infinity, the company’s newly re-architected suite of
enterprise solutions built on the latest Microsoft technologies.
Specifically, the new system:
- Was developed on the Microsoft .NET framework—including the
Silverlight and Windows Presentation Foundation extensions;
- Leverages the latest version of the SQL Server database; and
- Delivers a familiar, Office-like user experience.
BlueCherry Infinity provides fully integrated, AFA-specific ERP,
SCM, WMS, PLM, sourcing and BI solutions in a modular suite of
web-based, multi-tiered applications. The BlueCherry PLM solution
