Spokane Public Schools Advances Email Archive and Retrieval with Unlimited Mailbox™
The largest school district in Eastern
Washington is replacing its existing email message storage solution
with Unlimited Mailbox from CGS. The new system will remove current
scalability and message retrieval limitations with a non-invasive
solution that works with the organization’s GroupWise email platform
to minimize complexity, reduce costs, and improve regulatory
compliance.

— Computer Generated Solutions
Inc. (CGS) announces that Spokane Public Schools (SPS) will
implement the Unlimited Mailbox™ email archiving and e-discovery
solution across the district’s 5000-user GroupWise®
email system. In replacing the existing message archival tool,
Unlimited Mailbox will provide advanced email archiving and
e-discovery capabilities that will enable SPS to move beyond current
message retrieval and system scalability limitations to reduce costs
and improve compliance with regulatory requirements.
Unlimited Mailbox will provide SPS with automated message
archiving, on-demand access, fast and easy retrieval, automatic
backup and recovery solutions. These advanced capabilities will
enable SPS to reduce system complexity, increase user productivity,
and reduce administration costs.

With no new code required on existing mail servers, Unlimited
Mailbox delivers SPS a uniquely non-invasive system that will
leverage the existing GroupWise e-mail infrastructure to manage
email archival and retrieval. Users will retrieve e-mails as usual
and archived e-mails will be retrieved right to the user desktop
without IT intervention. Archived mail can also be accessed from
remote locations. In contrast to SPS’ current system, Unlimited
Mailbox does not require vendor-specific hardware or modular add-ons
to expand the system. The new system is also email platform
independent with support for most popular email systems through a
single code base for all platforms.
