CGS to Showcase Next-Generation Media Production Management Solution
at the National Association of Broadcasters Show
CGS will showcase a comprehensive media asset production management software solution in the Microsoft exhibit at the upcoming NAB Show April 12th – 15th
New York, NY, April 12, 2010
— Computer Generated Solutions Inc. (CGS)
is set to showcase a revolutionary new Media Asset Production
Management System for Microsoft Dynamics AX at the upcoming NAB Show
in Las Vegas. The result of more than 18 months of development, the
breakthrough technology provides media and entertainment companies
with an end-to-end business solution designed to streamline the flow
of digital and physical products through their operation by managing
the entire post-production lifecycle. Developed in collaboration
with Microsoft® and Ascent Media Group, the new system combines core
capabilities of the popular Microsoft Dynamics® AX business
management (ERP) solution with industry-specific requirements to
deliver a uniquely comprehensive and flexible solution. CGS will
conduct live demonstrations of the software in Microsoft booth
#SL200 in the NAB Show exhibit hall on April 12-15.
“Media and entertainment companies face distinct challenges
in a fast-changing digital world,” noted Mathilde
Sanson, Vice President of the CGS Microsoft Dynamics
practice. “To keep pace with the rapid evolution of industry
requirements, these companies have historically been required to
implement multiple, disparate systems that each address only a
specific part of the process. For many companies, this integrated
system will replace several legacy software tools by providing
everything needed to manage the complex and time-sensitive media
production lifecycle.”
The new Media Asset Production Management System for Microsoft
Dynamics AX provides a single easy-to-use interface for all services
being performed on both physical and digital assets, enabling
faster, higher quality media asset management, order management,
customer service, billing and financial planning. The open
architecture combined with the large pool of trained Dynamics AX
systems integrators allows content creators, media distributors and
service providers to rapidly and cost effectively integrate their
systems to form a complete end-to-end supply chain. Accurate
metrics and business intelligence can then be utilized to drive
continuous process reengineering to help studios, broadcasters, and
distributors bring digital content to the marketplace faster and
more cost efficiently.
According to Salim Faroukh, Senior Global
Product Manager, Microsoft Dynamics AX, “The media asset
production solution offers media companies significant opportunities
to streamline processes and gain operational efficiencies. This
solution addresses the needs of media production companies and
standardizes them by utilizing the best practices built into the
Dynamics AX business application solution.”
“The media asset production solution brings the scale and
extensibility of a cross industry ERP system to the media and
entertainment industry,” said Jose Royo, CEO
of Ascent Media Group. “It can be utilized by companies across
our industry to bring the benefits of an efficient supply chain to
media and entertainment, which frees up content creators and
distributors to focus on the creative elements of production and the
execution of new revenue-generating strategies.”
The Media Asset Production Management System takes advantage of
the familiar Microsoft computing environment to drive down training
time, reduced administration and maintenance, and provide faster
access to information, enabling better business decisions. In
contrast to proprietary business systems, Microsoft Dynamics
solutions offer customers the freedom and security of Microsoft
support and availability of wide-ranging services through its
worldwide partner community.
The new system is targeted for post-production companies,
studios, internal creative departments, creative agencies, and
related businesses.
